What is ozone?

Ozone

Ozone is a molecule made up of three oxygen atoms and is often referred to as O3. It is a gas that is low density and colorless under normal temperature. If its density reaches a specific level it will have scent of fresh grass and will be pale blue. After a heavy rain, the air often smell is ozone air.  You can smell the same scent when you are in a forest, under a rainfall, and around the seaside or river.

What makes ozone this effective is its high oxdiation potential. Ozone is about five times more oxidizing than oxygen and about twice as oxidizing as chlorine. Ozone has a well-documented kill rate of microorganisms such as fungus, bacteria and viruses.

Ozonized water

Pure water and disinfection processes are essential in the food and the quality of the water determines the quality of the product. The challenge is to ensure a consistently high water quality to ensure a consistent product quality. With ozone the natural taste and smell  of the water is preserved. Chemical free disinfection of process equipment is another challenge, where ozone is an efficient alternative. The kona ozone systems provide a cost effective and reliable solution to water challenges in your household.

Ozone Generators

Ozone generators produce ozone by adding energy to oxygen molecules (O2), which cause the oxygen atoms to part ways and temporarily recombine with other O2 molecules creating ozone (O3).
